FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – Jury selection is underway in the trial for former fort worth police officer Aaron Dean.
There was some anticipation that the weekend death of the lead defense attorney in the case, Jim Lane, could lead to another delay in the start of Aaron Dean’s trial. But Jury selection began on Monday. While the possibility of a delay is still there, the trial is moving forward.
There have been a number of requests for delays and a change in venue by Dean’s lawyers, but as of Monday afternoon, attorneys hoped to have the jury picked by the end of this week.
The former Officer is accused of shooting Atatiana Jefferson to death inside her family’s home in 2019.
