The victim in that incident was Rucker’s wife, 35-year-old Lucy Rucker who is also an officer with the Fort Worth Police Department. The domestic violence occurred on the evening of June 2nd at a Fort Worth residence where Lucy Rucker sustained minor injuries.

An internal administrative investigation determined that Rucker had violated multiple Fort Worth PD policies which led to the firing. The 50-year-old joined the department in 2014 and was most recently assigned to the Patrol Bureau. Fort Worth Police Chief NeIl Noakes concurred with the internal investigation’s determination and terminated Rucker’s employment with the department.

The criminal investigation of the domestic violence incident is being conducted by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s office.
