COLLIN COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF) – Ahead of Tuesday’s deadline to register to vote, Collin County election officials said there are 100,000 more registered voters in the county this voting season compared to the midterms four years ago.
According to Collin County Election Administrator Bruce Sherbet, the county registers an average of about 25,000 new voters a year. Sherbet said it’s unclear how the relocations will impact election results.
“It’s guess work until you see the final results,” Sherbet said.
Collin County residents are wondering if voting trends will change in the typically red county.
“People are moving from California or other blue states, so some ask if that is going to affect things in our county,” said Sherbet. “Then you also have people who vote red moving from those states too.”
The deadline to register to vote in the November election is October 11.
