Frisco Police Warning Residents Amid Investigations Into Robberies Near Regents Park

FRISCO (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Frisco Police Department is urging residents to be on alert after two robberies that occurred near Regents Park earlier this month.

The crimes are believed to have been committed by the same people.

The incidents happened on Tuesday, September 13 around 7:40 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 27 around 7:50 p.m.

Investigators said in both cases, the victims were wearing jewelry and were approached by a black sedan with a heavy-set white woman in the passenger seat and a male driver.

In the first incident, the woman got out of the car and started talking to the victims as she approached them.

She tried to put a necklace around the victim’s neck before before grabbing the gold chain the victim was wearing in an effort to forcibly remove it.

Police said the second incident had a similar modus operandi. Both victims were able to fend off their attacker and call for help.

The suspects took off without the jewelry. The victims suffered minor injuries.

Investigators believe the suspects are targeting people wearing visible jewelry and are stressing that residents maintain constant awareness when anyone unknown to them attempts to get within close proximity.

Anyone with information or who notices suspicious activity is asked to contact Frisco PD at 972-292-6010.

Tipsters can send information anonymously by texting FRISCOPD and the tip to 847411 or by downloading the Frisco PD app.
