Six Flags Over Texas Hosts School Supply Drive

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The beginning of school is on the horizon across North Texas and Six Flags Over Texas is hosting several supply drives this month to help students succeed.

Anyone who drops off six items at the theme park’s front gate will get a $10 Six Flags money voucher.

Brad Malone, Six Flags Over Texas Marketing and Communications Manager, said the park was compelled to step in when faced with the sheer volumes of those needing help.

“There was a large demand for supplies in 2021 and Mission Arlington has told us there was even bigger demand for 2022. We just wanted support the local community and the Metroplex and just provide what we can,” he said.

The collected items will be given to Mission Arlington, who will distribute them to students. Last year, the mission helped more than 9,000 students in the fall of 2021.

Malone said Six Flags will work with the Mission Arlington year round to get needed supplies to the community.

“Not only for the beginning of the school year but throughout the year because know that students get may get supplies at the beginning of the year but they need to continuously have those to be successful in their classroom,” he said.

The drive runs on August 6, 7, 13 and 14.
