Texas Leaders React to SCOTUS Decision on Prayer

(WBAP/KLIF) – Following Monday’s U.S. Supreme Court Decision that a former Washington football state had a right to pray after games, Texas leaders are praising the ruling.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said that the ruling affirms a First Amendment right to freely practice religion.

“Today’s judicious ruling is a great victory for Americans of all faiths,” said Lt. Gov. Patrick. “Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has issued its decision in Kennedy’s favor, it is abundantly clear that government cannot infringe on personal displays of prayer.”

Patrick pointed out that the Texas Senate passed the Religious Liberty bill and insisted the state will continue to make the issue a priority.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott took to social media after the ruling came down.
