Census Bureau Says Texas Was Undercounted In 2020

Washington (WBAP/KLIF) – The US Census Bureau has released the results of a follow-up survey it conducted on the accuracy of its own national head count in 2020. It concludes not all states were counted equally well. Six states had the greatest number of errors, and Texas is one of that half-dozen. According to the Census Bureau, Texas’ population was undercounted by 2%. It notes that head count is used to divvy-up political representation and disbursement of government funds, so Texas will get less than it might have been entitled to in both categories. However, the follow-up survey also indicates the state might bear some of the responsibility itself for the undercount, because it invested very little in get-out-the-count publicity, and then very late in the process.
