Verizon Offering Sign-On Bonuses for some DFW New Hires, Raises Base Pay for Employees

NEW YORK (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Verizon is hoping to attract new talent by offering sign-on bonuses to some of its new hires in the company’s most competitive markets, which includes the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

New retail specialists will receive a $2,500 incentive and assistant managers are being offered $3,500.

Verizon communication manager Heidi Flato said the decision to offer bonuses is based on current trends.

“Well, it’s no secret the hiring environment is really competitive these days and, on top of that, the inflation is really affecting all of our employees,” she said.

The telecommunications giant also raised the base pay for customer-service, inside sales and retail employees to $20 an hour.

Flato said the company also offers competitive benefits such as education and tuition reimbursement, 401K and health plans. She urges anyone looking for a job with upward mobility to consider Verizon.

“Just because you start in a retail store doesn’t mean that that’s where your career ends,” she said.

Hiring bonuses aren’t necessarily new but they’re becoming more prevalent for entry-level positions in industries like retail, food service, hospitality and transportation.
