Paxton Must Turn Over Personal Cell Phone Records Related to Jan 6th Trump Rally

(WFAA)

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas AG Ken Paxton has until Thursday to turn over his personal cell phone records from January 6th 2021 — so says the Travis County DA.

In reaction to a complaint filed earlier this month, DA Jose Garza says that Paxton and his office failed to comply with the Texas Public Information Act. Several organizations are seeking Paxton’s connections to a Trump rally just prior to the US Capitol riot.

Last April Paxton’s office said the records in question fall under exempted under “attorney-client privilege.”

Paxton has been criticized from the left for joing the ‘Stop the Steal’ rally last January 6th. That rally was immediately followed by a violent takeover of the US Capitol during Congressional proceedings to aimed at certifying the 2020 presidential election.

Garza says he will take civil action if Paxton does not comply.
