DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson has tested positive for Covid 19. The mayor says “thankfully, I am fully vaccinated, and I am only experiencing mild symptoms.”
He received the positive test result Tuesday morning and notified everyone with who he has had close contact with. Johnson’s wife tested negative and he says their primary concern at this time is the health of his children, who are not yet eligible to receive a vaccine.
In a statement, Johnson encouraged residents of Dallas to get vaccinated if they have not yet done so — and to receive a booster shot when they are eligible. He added, “the vaccines have saved lives and can make breakthrough cases, like mine, far less severe.”
