Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – In Fort Worth, the double murder trial has begun for 35-year old Craig Vanewege who is accused of killing wife and infant son in 2016.
On Wednesday gruesome images of Shanna Vandewege and the couple’s 3-month old baby with their throats slashed were shown in court.
During opening statements, prosecutors said that they have evidence to prove the defendant’s contention that he found his home ransacked on December 15, 2016, and his wife and son murdered. Vandewege made the claim during 9-1-1 call to police.
During the trial, police dispatchers who took the call testified that Vandewege remained unusually calm as he reported the alleged incident.
The defense did not present an opening statement, according to our media partner, WFAA-TV.
