Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – Country music icon Willie Nelson will help close out the 4-day “march for democracy” from Greenville to the State Capitol this weekend in Austin.
The march, spear-headed in-part by former Texas congressman Beto O’rourke in a call for federal voting rights legislation, will close out with a rally on Saturday.
In a written statement, Nelson denounced numerous Republican-led election law proposals, including the bill currently stalled in the Texas House.
The statement reads, in part, “Laws making it more difficult for people to vote are un-american and are intended to punish people of color, the elderly and disabled.”
