The Dallas Foundation Awards $1M+ in Scholarships for Local Students

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- The Dallas Foundation, the first community foundation in Texas, is proud to announce it has awarded more than 300 scholarships, totaling more than $1M in support, to students pursuing their educational journey.

The Dallas Foundation offers a wide array of scholarships, including school-specific scholarships, scholarships for certain areas of study, and employer-based scholarships. Upon receiving this year’s applications, the Foundation engaged committees specific to each scholarship to review and select awardees.

“The Dallas Foundation is committed to advancing education access and equity for individuals to reach their full potential, and we are proud to award these scholarships to truly outstanding students in our community,” said Matthew Randazzo, President & CEO of The Dallas Foundation. “When a recipient receives scholarship funds it not only provides monetary support, but also signals our faith in them, in their ability to continue their educational journey and positively impact our community..”

Randazzo said providing students with access to higher education will continue makes a positive affect and drive equity in our economy. “So they can bridge to the new economy, so they can get a good paying job and support their families,” he said.

“I am honored to receive a scholarship from The Dallas Foundation to help me pursue a music degree from Jackson State University, an HBCU and one of the best music programs in the South,” said Jair Ramirez, 2021 recipient of the Nicol Williams Scholarship and graduate of Dallas ISD Sunset High School. “The support of The Dallas Foundation and its generous donors through this scholarship will help me pursue my dream of returning to Dallas and working to support future students with their music education.”

The next round of scholarships through The Dallas Foundation for interested students will open in early 2022 on dallasfoundation.org/scholarships
