MCALLEN (WBAP/KLIF) Senator John Cornyn is pushing his new bipartisan legislation that confronts the current surge of migrants at the southern border.Senator Cornyn and his coauthors visited with law enforcement in the Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday, and toured a facility in Donna.
Cornyn’s ‘Bipartisan Border Solutions Act’ focuses on ways the Federal government can better manage surges. It’s all part of the effort to reduce illegal immigration.
“The fact of that matter is, unless we come up with an alternative plan, or a transition plan, we’re going to see conditions get even worse and perhaps lose control,” Senator Cornyn said.
Cornyn said his bill would add more immigration Judges and Asylum Officers to help adjudicate asylum claims faster.
