Mountain Creek neighborhood in southwest Dallas on Saturday morning, told police surveillance video captured the moment someone broke into the back door of their home and took her son.

Police arrested 18-year old Darriynn Brown (pictured right) who is charged with kidnapping and theft in the case – additional charges are pending. Residents of the neighborhood told WFAA that they often saw Brown walking through the neighborhood.

Residents expressed disbelief of the tragic incident as they showed up at a makeshift memorial for Cash. One woman said, “How can you hurt a kid? They’re just so innocent and full of life.”

Police say Brown was wearing an ankle monitoring device from a previous arrest.

Little Cash suffered multiple injuries; he leaves behind a twin brother, who according to WFAA is now in state custody.

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas police have made an arrest in the weekend killing of a small boy. The body of the toddler was found Saturday morning lying in a southwest Dallas street near the intersection of Saddleridge Drive and Wood Homestead Drive. Police say the boy had suffered ‘multiple wounds,’ and was clearly murdered. Officers then announced Sunday morning they had made an arrest. They identified the suspect only as an adult male. They have not said what relationship the suspect may have to the dead child, or how they were lead to him.
