Why Former Lt. Gov. Dewhurst Was Arrested

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Police say former Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst was arrested Tuesday on a domestic violence charge because he pushed his girlfriend down while trying to take their shared laptop away from her. It happened in front of a hotel near Dallas Love Field. Hotel security video allegedly shows Dewhurst chasing his girlfriend around the hotel entryway, then pushing her to the ground. He takes the laptop away from her, and is walking toward a bus when she catches up to him. The video then shows Dewhurst forcing her head down, and holding her bent over while he talks to someone else. The same woman was arrested last May, and again in November, for attacking and injuring Dewhurst. Each of those cases was dismissed.
