Federal Judge Blocks Parler’s Effort to Get Back on Amazon Web Services

Seattle (WBAP/KLIF) – A federal judge on Thursday denied Parler’s request for a court order blocking Amazon from nixing it from its platform.
It was another setback for the social media app’s attempt to get back online.

Judge Barbara Rothstein issued a ruling on Thursday saying that Parler had not met the legal requirements for a temporary restraining order or preliminary injunction.
Parler, the conservative alternative to Twitter is avored by the far-right sued AWS earlier this month after the web-hosting service claimed Parler did not do enough to remove instances of incitement from its website.

In legal briefs, Amazon said that Parler “demonstrated unwillingness and inability to remove from the servers of Amazon Web Services (‘AWS’) content that threatens the public safety.”

That decision does not end the litigation, but the court decision is a win for Amazon as it will not be forced to again give Parlor a platform.

Parler CEO John Matze told Fox News on Sunday night he was was confident the service would be back up by the end of the month.
