Vice Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris to Campaign in Fort Worth, Republicans React

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – Democrat Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris will campaign later this week in Tarrant County.

According to her campaign, the Senator from California will make several stops in Texas on Friday, including a visit to Fort Worth.

Democrats in Tarrant County feel they may have momentum after Beto O’Rourke gave Ted Cruz a run for his money in the County in 2018. But Tarrant County GOP Chairman Rick Barnes noted on Wednesday that the 2018 Senate race also motivated Republicans.

“It not only woke up Democrats but it dramatically woke up Republicans,” Barnes insisted. “We do not have a concern about Tarrant County turning blue but at the same time we know we have to work hard between now and Tuesday.”

Harris’ visit comes with polls showing a close race in Texas and both parties encouraging high voter turnout.

The Biden-Harris campaign has yet to announce exactly where in Fort Worth the Senator will campaign. She also plans to visit McAllen and Houston on Friday. The trip will mark the first time a Democrat Vice Presidential candidate has campaigned in Texas since 1988.
