Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – It could be a big ‘get’ for Texas, as Nasdaq Inc. considers relocating its electronic infrastructure to DFW.

Governor Greg Abbott confirmed in a tweet that he is in talks with the company, posting,

“They want to flee high taxes. i let them know that we just passed a constitutional amendment banning an income tax in Texas.”

According to the Dallas Morning News, Nasdaq is in a dispute with the State of New Jersey over proposed taxes on financial transactions from high speed trading on the NYSE and its rivals.

The DMN quotes sources who say Nasdaq is planning a visit to Texas so meet with Gov. Abbott soon.

Dallas-Fort Worth is among several areas Nasdaq is looking into for relocation …  Virginia, North Carolina and Illinois are also in its sites.
