Arlington’s General Motors Partners with CVS to Offer Flu Shots to Local Employees

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- As many workers continue to head back to work amid the Covid-19 pandemic, community employers like Arlington’s General Motors are making it much easier for local employees to get a flu vaccine this year.

Doctor Jeffery Hess, GM’s Corporate Medical Director said GM is partnering with CVS to provide flu immunizations at gm campuses across the country.

“It’s extremely important especially this year with COVID-19 in the mix,” said Hess. “They are both respiratory viruses , can impact employees at the same time potentially and influenza can look like Covid also,” he said.

Employees at Arlington’s assembly plant have been back to work since April implementing a specific “return to work” health and safety playbook.

GM has been working extra to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic by developing new workplace safety technology helping employees return to work with more confidence , completing production and delivery of 30,000 critical care ventilators to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, producing millions of surgical masks and other personal protective equipment for employees and healthcare workers and providing local community support through grants, donations and volunteerism.
