Allen ISD Offering Students Free Meals Through the End of the Semester

ALLEN (WBAP/KLIF News) – Allen ISD families who are struggling financially amid the COVID-19 pandemic now have some additional help.

The district is offering free breakfast and lunch meals for all in-person elementary and middle school students, as well as PreK through 12th grade students who are learning virtually at home through the end of the semester.

It’s an extension of the Seamless Summer Option program and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Families who are getting pre-ordered meals can be pick them up daily at Boyd Elementary, Rountree Elementary, Curtis Middle School and Ereckson Middle School from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

The meal package includes one lunch and the next days breakfast with instructions on how to prepare them.

The district said Lowery Freshman Center and Allen High School do not participate in the federally-funded program and therefore meals will be charged as normal in those cafeterias.
