(WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- The gulf coast is bracing for impact from Tropical Storm Beta, which is set to bring heavy rains and flooding Monday night.

Rand Jenkins with the Texas Baptist men says they have already set up feeding, flooded home clean out and assessor teams on alert to serve. This all while still helping those effected by Hurricane Laura, which slammed the gulf coast in August. The organization has already completed over 500 work requests and provided over 50,000 meals.

COVID-19 has only made the process much more difficult according to Jenkins, as they are doing their best to enforce social distancing while helping others.

“Amidst a pandemic what we’ve been doing is spreading out more so it takes more vehicles it takes more space to house the volunteers in these places so these are the things that are starting to add up more financially,” said Jenkins.
