Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – During a meeting that continued past midnight, parents, teachers, and health department officials weighed in on whether in-person learning should resume in the Fort Worth iSD.

After a motion to extend online learning for another 4 weeks was voted down, in-person classes will resume on October 5th.

Meantime, the district has implemented COVID-19 guidelines.

According to Superintendent Kent Scribner, students who ride the bus to school will have a new routine.

(WBAP/KLIF) — Fort Worth ISD is implementing plans for in-person learning, once students head back to the classroom. While 52% of polled parents want school to begin in person, 48% are in favor of virtual instruction.

Superintendent Kent Scribner says when school does resume, the district will be ready.  He also says district employees will disinfect buses twice a day and put quarantine protocols in place should someone come down with Coronavirus.

District officials held a meeting, Tuesday night, to provide the public with planned measures for district schools.  Scribner said students riding the bus will go through a wellness check and be required to wear masks, while buses will be sanitized twice a day.  Fort Worth ISD will also implement transparent dividers, face coverings, and sanitization measures.
