DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Fights broke out and Dallas Police detained at least two people following a ‘Walk Away Rescue America’ rally at Main Street Garden Park Saturday.
Members of the group were displaying American flags and some Trump signs when counter-protesters led by Dominique Alexander of Next Generation Action Network showed up. There was a scuffle between the two groups and Alexander and a man who was hired for security were taken to police headquarters for questioning.
According to DPD, all parties involved in the fight were given citations.
“After a subject check of Dominique Alexander, he showed to have active warrants,” DPD said in statement released Saturday night. “He was arrested for his outstanding warrants and placed into the Central Detention Center.”
The Walk Away Rescue America campaign tours the country urging Americans to walk away from the Democratic party. Organizers defended the security guard and posted video of the scuffle on social media.
