
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBAP/KLIF) – President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence were officially re-nominated on Monday after receiving more than 2,500 votes from the Republican delegation during Republican National Convention roll call in Charlotte.
The President and Vice President both made remarks from the Charlotte Convention Center.
President Trump was greeted by chants of “four more years” as he surprised the delegates with a speech that lasted for over an hour. He touted his administration’s accomplishments.
“We brought back manufacturing, we rebuilt our military, we wiped out ISIS,” the President said. ”
He ended his remarks with campaign promises.
“We’re going to create 10 million jobs in the first ten months,” the President vowed. “Also, we’re going to create tax credits that bring our jobs back from China and other countries.”
He said he’ll speak more on policy when he officially accepts the nomination Thursday from the White House.
During Monday’s roll call, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick presented the votes of the Texas delegation.
“We cast all 155 votes for my friend and the only hope every American in this country has for true liberty and true freedom and true opportunity,” Patrick said. “Donald J. Trump for President of the United States.”
The President is expected to speak nightly as the RNC continues with speeches from various places.
