(WBAP/KLIF) — One suspect is in custody and another on the run in the shooting of a Dallas Police Officer.
It was a quiet night of shopping for an off-duty officer and his wife at the Fort Worth Stockyards, Sunday. That ended when two men approached the couple and demanded the woman’s purse.
The officer, who was holding his wife’s purse, refused which led to a short fight. That resulted in one of the robbers pulling a gun and shooting the officer in the chest.
The suspects fled the scene with the officer following behind before he realized he’d been shot. Fort Worth Police picked up the chase and captured one of the suspects. The injured officer was taken to a local hospital and is listed in good condition.
