Coronavirus Sweeps Through Texas Women’s Prison

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Coronavirus is sweeping through a Texas women’s prison.  Nearly half of the almost 1,300 prisoners at the Federal Medical Center-Carswell have tested positive for COVID-19.

The outbreak is the second largest at a federal prison. The facility reported 310 new cases of the virus, Tuesday, just two days after revealing 200 inmates tested positive.  The federal prison in Seagoville is the only facility with more infected inmates…almost 1,200.

the federal bureau of prisons says more than 500 women have tested positive for the coronavirus at the Carswell facility, which holds female inmates with medical and mental health issues.
