Dallas County Tax Offices Ending Face-to-Face Transactions, Closing Offices to the Public

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas County residents will no longer be able to conduct businesses at county tax offices for the foreseeable future.

The Dallas County Tax Office said its ending face-to-face transactions and closing all offices to the public in the interest of public health.

“We know this is a difficult time for all our residents and we are working diligently to make sure that all our services have an alternate process while we are closed to the public for face-to-face transactions. As always, we look forward to serving your needs,” said Dallas County Tax Assessor-Collector John R. Ames.

The office is encouraging customers to process their vehicle registrations and property tax payments online at www.dallascounty.org/tax .

“Our neighborhood grocery partners are also processing current vehicle registrations after a valid instruction,” the office’s statement said.

There is some relief for those who may be scrambling to get their registrations done.

Governor Greg Abbott’s waiver of certain requirements for vehicle registration, vehicle tilting and disabled parking placards remains in place.

Dallas County property tax payments can be paid online by check, credit or debit card at www.dallascounty.org/tax  or by mail to P.O. Box 139066, Dallas, TX, 75313-9066.

The Dallas County Tax Office’s Customer Care Center is available to assist taxpayers with questions regarding property taxes, motor vehicle registrations and title concerns Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at 214-653-7811.
