Record COVID-19 Numbers Reported in DFW

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – New record COVID-19 numbers were reported in North Texas and statewide on Tuesday.

Dallas County reported 601 additional cases and 20 deaths. 605 cases and three death were reported in Tarrant County. Denton County reported 105 news cases and 115 confirmed cases were reported in Collin County.

The metroplex is approaching 40,000 total cases. 681 people have died.

“Today we’ve surpassed 600 new cases of COVID-19 for the first time, having surpassed 300 cases only 20 days ago,” said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. “Additionally, this is our deadliest day thus far in the outbreak. Our hospitalization numbers continue to increase. Local COVID-19 hospitalizations [Monday] were at an all-time high of 619 compared to 296 30 days ago. And regionally, [Monday] was an all-time high of 1340 compared to 615 30 days ago.”

The State of Texas reported 6,975 total cases Tuesday as the COVID-19 positivity rate surpasses 14%.
