TALLADEGA, AL – NASCAR says a noose was found in the garage stall of Bubba Wallace on Sunday at the NASCAR race in Talladega, Alabama.
Wallace is the only full-time Black driver in NASCAR’s lite Cup Series.

Two weeks ago, he successfully pushed for NASCAR to ban the Confederate flag at its tracks and properties.
NASCAR says it has launched an immediate investigation into the noose.
NASCAR President Steve Phelps issued a statement at the start of Sunday’s race:

The series says it was “outraged” and said there is no place for racism in NASCAR. Wallace says he was saddened but undeterred.

Former NASCAR fans strike back. Talladega NASCAR ‘flagged’ by mobile flagging. Let’s #DefundNascar, #BoycottNASCAR now. Take that, Bubba! Take that, NASCAR. pic.twitter.com/EkJb6z16ru

#DefundNASCAR Take away your support. Why should you, since they hate you, your culture, your heritage. This ISN’T your father’s NASCAR. #BoycottNFL
