(WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott is denouncing audio posted online by a well-known conservative group. In the recording the podcasters are heard mocking the Governor’s use of a wheel chair.
An unedited recording of an Empower Texans podcast posted by The Quorum Report Friday included a conversation between the group’s lead counsel and Vice President about an interview they had recently wrapped up regarding the Governor.
“I said Abbott wheel himself out there,” a co-host said.
“And then withing seconds you demanded that he stand firm,” said the other podcaster.
The rest of the recording is laced profanity.
The recording prompted Lt. Governor Dan Patrick to speak out.
“The hateful Empower Texans attack mocking Governor Abbott is outrageous, vulgar and completely unacceptable,” Patrick said.

Empower Texans reportedly says the staffers have been suspended.
