Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall Heckled by Protesters

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – During a protest against police brutality in front of City Hall Sunday, Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall volunteered to speak to the crowd, but she chose to leave after five minutes after being continually interrupted.

At one point Hall said, ‘If the system is the issue,” at which point a protesters yelled out, “You’re the issue.”

Protester Ryan Lewis organized the march/rally from Klyde Warren Park to city hall. He also yelled for Hall to resign.

Lewis was among those tear gassed by Dallas Police during early protests after the death of George Floyd. Lewis also supports the ‘Defund the Police’ movement.

For her part, Chief Hall told our media partner, WFAA-TV,It is difficult to heal those things that are broken.

“I’m not angry that their angry, I feel the pain that they feel, but I will say that as long as their in this space … we can’t move to the next space.”
