FORT WORTH – WBAP/KLIF – A Fort Worth police officer remains hospitalized in critical condition, after being hit by a reported stolen vehicle on the North Freeway late Saturday morning.
Police say the officer tried to stop a vehicle and a chase began. They report the officer was struck by that vehicle as he deployed spike strips.
The officer was reported in surgery to about midnight. Officials say they found the suspect hiding in a neighborhood near Linkcrest and Interstate 30; charged with attempted captial murder and additional charges connected with evading arrest.
