DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – Dallas County Saturday listed a new peak in Covid 19 infections; the fourth day of record numbers for the novel coronavirus.
Dallas County reports 345 new Covid 19 infections and three additional deaths.  Tarrant County reports 3 deaths as well on Saturday, and 133 new Covid 19 infections; a rate also up.  Denton County reported 32 new infections; we await Collin County numbers for Saturday.

Officials believe part of the increase in numbers may be attributed to new infections following a holiday weekend with less social distancing.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins notes it’s the rate of hospitalization that concerns officials greatly.  Contact tracing will be increasing; Jenkins reports the commissioners court authorized 10 million dollars for tracing efforts.  Dallas County Health and Human Services Director Dr. Phillipp Huang announces another 260 additional staffers for the effort.  Jenkins also says there will be a new method of contract tracing announced later this month.
