
DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – President Donald Trump landed at Dallas Love Field shortly before 3:00pm Thursday.
He was met by Governor Greg Abbott and other Dallas community leaders and residents. There was not any many greeters as usual due to COVID-19 but there was a heavy police presence.
Dallas Resident Deanna Kienast said she was one of the lucky ones. “It was so patriotic, truly a life time experience that I wish everyone can experience,” she said.
President Trump traveled to Gateway Church near LBJ Freeway and Hillcrest to participate in a round-table discussion with law enforcement and faith leaders about health, economic and justice disparities in American communities in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

Inside, the president talked about resisting racism in the U.S. He called on Americans to confront bigotry and prejudice.
“But we’ll make no progress and heal no wounds by falsely labeling tens of millions of decent Americans as racists or bigots,” said President Trump.
He said he’s focused on providing economic opportunity in black communities.
“At the heart of this effort is increasing access to capital for small business and that’s with minority owners in black communities,” President Trump said.
On the issue of defunding Police Departments the President said his administration is not going that route.
“We’re going to have stronger Police forces because that’s what you need,” he said.
Several cities across the country are considering cutting off funding to its Police departments.
After attending a private fundraiser in the Preston Hollow area of Dallas the President returned to Air Force One and left for New Jersey.
