DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Protesters took to the streets of Dallas for the second day in a row on Saturday to call for justice in the death of a black man in Minneapolis Police custody.
George Floyd died after video shows a Minneapolis Police Officer with his knee pressed into Floyd’s neck as Floyd pleaded for help.
“We’re here Because of social injustice and so we can make a change,” said a Dallas protester.
Others, called for action.
“Do right and let’s make new legislation and new laws,” said another demonstrator. “Or this is what you’re going to get.”
Dallas Police made a total of 90 arrests. 74 of them were charged with Vandalism or Inciting a riot. 15 others were charged with vandalizing a building near Woodall Rogers. Three guns and a taser were found nearby.
Road signs were trashed and windows were smashed out of business in Dwontown Dallas and uptown, including Victory Park. One man is seen on video being beaten by a crowd in South Victory.
Police used tear gas periodically to disperse crowds.
The Next Generation Action Network plans a Monday evening protest outside Dallas Police Headquarters.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson said Sunday that city leaders would consider a curfew.
