VIDEO: Fort Worth Fire Department Searching for Suspect Accused of Setting Fire, Threatening to Burn Man Alive During Robbery

FORT WORTH  (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Fort Worth Fire Department has released video of a terrifying incident in the hope that the public can help them identify a man accused of threatening to burn a hotel clerk alive before setting the lobby on fire this week.

In a Facebook post, Fort Worth Fire investigators said on Sunday at 10:15 p.m., a man walked into the lobby of the Budget Host Inn at 3720 Tanacross Drive and attempted to rob the clerk at the front desk.

The suspect allegedly told the clerk he would set him on fire if he did not give up the money.

Surveillance video shows the man throwing a liquid accelerant at the clerk and the front desk before lighting the fire.

Investigators said the clerk suffered minor burns and the blaze caused significant damage to the lobby.

The suspect has long hair, was seen wearing a baseball hat, t-shirt and a button down shirt.

He’s believed to have been driving a white Honda Accord with a sunroof.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the fire department’s Lt. James Horton at 817-9292-8735 or Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-569-TIPS (8477).
