Waco (AP) – Former U.S. Representative Allen West of Florida has been injured in a motorcycle crash near Waco. West’s Facebook page says the former congressman was airlifted to a Waco hospital where he is now in stable condition. West reportedly was riding his motorcycle when a car cut him off, causing him to collide with another motorcyclist. The Republican West moved from Florida to Texas after leaving Congress in 2013. He had served one term and once called for then-President Barack Obama’s impeachment. West is now running for chair of the Republican Party of Texas.
