(WBAP/KLIF) — The Metroplex accounts for 30% of the Coronavirus cases in Texas. Of the over 41,000 positive cases of COVID-19 in the Lone Star State, more than 12,000 are in D-F-W.
Dallas county reports over 6,300 infected patients, Tarrant more than 3,800, while Collin and Denton counties are approaching a thousand each. Nearly 350 residents of North Texas have died of the Cornavirus, with Dallas county nearing 150 and Tarrant county approaching 110. Statewide the death toll is over 1,100.
Nearly 350 new cases of COVID-19 were found in the Metroplex, Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to over 12,000. Dallas county confirmed an additional 236 cases, Tarrant county reported 65, while Collin and Denton counties combined for 46 new cases.
Dallas county has the lowest coronavirus fatality rate in the DFW area. The 2.3% fatality rate is not only the lowest in the Metroplex, but lower than the statewide death rate of 2.8%. Tarrant county has a 2.9% fatality rate, while Collin county has a 3% rate. Denton county’s fatality rate is 2.6%. Over 310 North Texans have died of the virus.
