(WBAP/KLIF) — Over 300 new cases of COVID-19 surfaced in the Metroplex, Thursday. Dallas County reported the largest daily increase in cases with 179 additionally infected residents.
Tarrant County health officials indicated they had 97 newly confirmed cases, while Denton and Collin Counties combined for 31 new cases. in all, North Texas surged past 7,200 cases of Coronavirus with 213 deaths.
Dallas county continues to outpace the three other Metroplex counties in the number of Coronavirus cases. Health officials also released, Thursday, that over 3,500 Dallas County residents have COVID-19. Tarrant, Collin, and Denton counties combine for over 3,700 cases.
Over 2,200 of the cases are in Tarrant County, while Denton County has 765 and Collin County reports 724. A total of 213 North Texans have died of the virus, with 104 of them in Dallas County. Tarrant listed 68 deaths, while Denton has 21 and Collin county 20.
The statewide death toll is over 780 with over 28-thousand cases reported.
