DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise in North Texas but hospital equipment remains readily available.
Dallas County reported no additional coronavirus related deaths for the second day in a row on Monday. This, after the deadliest week so far in the county with 33 last week.
84 additional cases were reported in Dallas County, bringing the total in Dallas County to over 2,500.
“In looking at Monday’s numbers, remember a few private labs are closed on Sunday,” said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. “We continue to scrap and claw for more testing and you must continue to exercise good personal responsibility decisions, limit essential business trips and wear a cloth covering when you go to essential businesses.”
The continued rises in cases comes with over 3,000 hospital beds available, at 25 reporting Dallas hospitals, and more than 600 ventilators not being used.
Below are the aggregate capacity totals for Sunday, as reported by the 25 hospitals:
- Total beds: 5,711
- Beds occupied: 2,962
- Total ICU beds: 827
- ICU beds occupied: 501
- Total ventilators: 942
- Ventilators in use: 298
Across DFW, more than 4,800 people have tested positive for COVID-19 and at least 128 people have died.
