Tareka Lofton was on the verge of losing Loft 22, her wedding cake business because of the COVID-19-related shutdown, until an employee suggested doing the one thing everyone is selling out of.
“We’ve done whole stadiums and you would have thought that would be the big thing, but tissue paper, who knew.”
The cakes went viral and business is boomin.
Lofton has had to install a new phone line for orders.
Even Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price has ordered one of the cakes.
