Law Enforcement Agencies Taking COVID-19 Causulties

(WBAP/KLIF) — COVID-19 has the potential to affect law enforcement in North Texas.  As Coronavirus explodes across the United States, an increasing numbers of police officers and civilian law enforcement staff are getting sick.

The growing tally raises questions about law enforcement during the pandemic, as well as how departments will manage with the virus spreading among its ranks. Law enforcement agencies across the state of Texas have been hit by COVID-19.

With direct contact with the public on a routine basis, police officers are at risk for contracting the virus.  An Associated Press survey of over 40 law enforcement agencies found more than 690 officers and civilian employees have tested positive for COVID-19 around the country.
