(WBAP/KLIF) — The economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to be felt across the United States.  Major airlines have experienced a 90% decrease in the number of air travelers, while restaurants have been limited to take-out and delivery service only.

One chef in Houston has been forced to close three of his four restaurants, revamp his menu, and furlough most of his employees to stay open.  Chris Shepherd says it’s been “an all-out hustle” as he and his staff work to stay in business during the Coronavirus outbreak.

COVID-19 has cost the restaurant and beverage industry $25-billion in sales and forced the loss of 3-million jobs.  With President Trump announcing a 30-day extension to the social distancing guidelines, many fear it could get worse.
