Federal Reserve Cuts Interest Rates to Battle Coronavirus

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell

(WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- As the Coronavirus continues to rattle the world the Federal Reserve has taken action and cut interest rates from 1% to 0% in an attempt to save the economy from the negative effects.

This is the most dramatic move made by the reserve since 2008. President Donald Trump thinks this was a good move.

“We’re very happy they did it in one step they didn’t do it in four steps,” said President Trump.

They also put in place a 700-billion-dollar easing program to help shelter the economy. The ultra-low interest rates are expected to stay in place until the Coronavirus begins to fade away.
