Retail Giants and White House Discuss Making Drive Through Covid-19 Tests Available To Public.

WBAP/KLIF – President Trump today announced the White House is in negotiations with several retail giants, including Walmart, Walgreens and CVS.  The announcement came Friday during an address in which President Trump declared a national emergency.

The idea is the first in a series of steps to broaden Covid-19 testing for Americans, and boost test availability in a way that makes it easier for people to get tested, as well as offering a little more protection to health care workers taking those tests from people inside their vehicles.   The goal is to set up drive through testing centers in parking lots of these retailers.

Currently, the public is able to utilize a drive through testing facility in Denver.  Potential testees must bring a doctor’s note authorizing the test.   South Koreans can do it after obtaining authorization after answering a series of questions over the phone.  The FDA has authorized New York State to use certain public and private labs for Covid-19 testing without the usual federal approval waiting times; more states including Texas are expected to consider this option to speed testing and find more Covid-19 positive patients in hopes once aware of that status, individuals will self-isolate for a minimum 14 days before medical professionals deem the patient virus-free.
