Chris Stapleton, Willie Nelson Concert at Globe Life Field Postponed Due to Coronavirus

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- Chris Stapleton and Willie Nelson’s concert in Arlington Saturday has been postponed due to the Coronavirus. Close to 40,000 fans were expected to go to the new Globe Life Field for it’s grand opening event.  “It really sucks. It was going to be such a great concert and I was excited to see the new Globe Life Field,” said Doug Rodriguez. “It’s better to be safe than sorry. We don’t want to make it more of a problem but we can’t stop living our lives as well,” he said.

Chris Stapleton and wife Morgane released a statement on the sudden cancellation. “We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this will undoubtedly cause. Please know these decisions are not made lightly and we are working diligently to find new dates for  these shows & will announce that information as soon as it becomes available to us. We look forward to seeing you soon. Until then, our hope is that you all stay safe & well.”

Owner of J Gilligans Bar and Grill Randy Ford said he understands this decision but it will affect his business and surrounding businesses in Arlington’s Entertainment District.
“When there is anything less than a mile away from you with that many people..we are fortunate to get a number of those guests here in our restaurant. Is this going to affect my business? 100%,” said Ford.
Other concerts planned in the next couple of months have been postponed as well.
Live Nation is planning to pause all concert tours amid the Coronavirus outbreak until at least after April.
