Dallas County to Recount Thousands of Super Tuesday Ballots

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A recount of thousands of Super Tuesday election ballots is set for this week in one of Texas’ largest counties.

On Tuesday, a Judge allowed the Dallas County recount after election officials said ballots from more than 40 machines weren’t included the results. The Dallas County Elections Office asked the Judge to allow the recount of 44 polling machines which officials believe account for close to 7,000 votes that simply weren’t counted.

It’s believed some election Judges were confused about how votes were being stored. But Election Administrator Toni Pippins Poole testified that in a primary it’s on each political party to clarify instructions, not the county.

“Because they provide packages to their Judges,” said Pippins-Poole. “We don’t want to say anything that’s not from the parties.”
The Judge allowed the recount which is set for Wednesday at 8 a.m.
