DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Republican Senator Ted Cruz released a statement Sunday saying he interacted with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus.
In the written statement Cruz said the interaction was about 10 days ago at the Conservative Political Action Conference, commonly known as CPAC.
Cruz says he is not experiencing any symptoms, but is choosing to stay home this week until a total of 14 days has passed since the interaction. The congressman said he was informed last night (Saturday) that a person he shook hands and had a brief conversation with, was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.
Cruz said the interaction happened 10 days ago, noting that the average incubation period is five to six days. He said he is not experiencing any symptoms, and feels fine and healthy.
