(WBAP/KLIF) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is under fire in Texas after the premature release of a coronavirus patient in quarantine.
According to health officials, the woman was sent home after two negative tests but the CDC later received positive results for a third test. She was that brought back to isolation.
San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg was not happy when speaking about the incident Monday.
“I find it totally unacceptable that CDC would release a patient without receiving all test results,” Nirenberg said.
Governor Greg Abbott called the agency “negligent” and asked the local health department to act quickly.
“We want to see everybody that this woman came into contact with have a coronavirus test,” Governor Abbott said.
The Governor is demanding more frequent testing and asking that the current patients in quarantine to stay longer.
